Edogis writes Ize-Iyamu, Formally Revokes Right Of Occupancy On Property

Edo State Geographic Information Service (GIS)  has sent a letter  informing the APC governorship candidate in the Edo 2020 gubernatorial election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the formal revocation of his (Ize-Iyamu) property, a land measuring 18.0736 hectares at Amagba, Benin City. The  dated 22 July 2021 is signed by Mrs. Nora Ohiwerei , for the Managing Director Edogis reads“I am directed to inform you that the Edo state Governor Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has formally revoked the statutory right on all that parcel of land measuring approximately 18.0736 hectares in Amagba village area.

There are however insinuations that the revocation of the property belonging to pastor Osagie ize-iyamu may be  a continuation of an  onslaught against political enemies in the state by the Edo state Governor ,Mr Godwin Obaseki.

The Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) was set up on the 1st of August, 2017 by Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki as the successor government agency to the erstwhile Ministry of Lands and Surveys (later known as Lands Bureau).

EDOGIS is the only Edo State Government Agency charged with the responsibility for Lands administration, management, registrations, geo-mapping and surveys, in Edo State in accordance with the Edo State Lands Administration and Geographic Information Service Law, 2018 and as stipulated in the Land Use Act 1990 (Section 4B). The Edo State Lands Administration and Geographic Information Service Law was signed into legislation by His Excellency, Gov. Obaseki in April, 2018.
