DSS arrest alleged mastermind of Anambra lawmaker killing

Operatives of the Department of State Service DSS in Anambra state have arrested a 70-year-old man, Chukwujekwu Onuorah, alleged to be the mastermind of the abduction and beheading of a member of the state’s House of Assembly, Okechukwu Okoye.

Onuorah is alleged to be one of the leaders of the terror group known as ”Unknown gunmen” in the state.

The suspect who is said to be a native doctor was arrested in Unubi, in Nnewi South local government area of Anambra State alongside three others.

While Chukwujekwu has been moved to Abuja for further interrogation, the three other suspects are in the Anambra command of the DSS where they are also being interrogated.

Governor Charles Soludo has since announced an offer of N10 million for anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of those responsible for the killing of Okoye.

The deceased lawmaker was kidnapped on May 15th alongside one other person in his Toyota Sienna car by unknown persons.

On Saturday, May 21, his head was found at Nnobi, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where it was hanged while his body was kept by his killers.
