2024: HON YAKUBU URGES GOV OBASEKI TO CALL TOP GOVT.OFFICIAL TO ORDER

A former Edo State PDP deputy Governorship candidate, Mr John Yakubu has expressed deep dismay over the removal of several of his paid billboards at strategic locations in Benin city which he alleged was orchestrated by a top government official in the state.
According to him the emergence of a dictatorial tendency is reprehensible and inimical to the practice of democracy, as well as a dubious attempt to hold down his modest efforts to reach and sensitize the good people of Edo State on his message of hope.
MrJohn Yakubu made this know during a press briefing in Benin city
He said Some days ago, he observed with dismay that some billboards placed along Airport Road, Ikpoba Slope and Ikpoba Hill had been removed but on enquiry, the advertising company that handled the transaction stated that the removal was ordered by a very top Edo State government official who was angry about the message contained in the billboards.
The former governorship candidate said the message did not canvass for votes neither did it seek to promote the interest of any political party, as It merely says ‘Edo of Our Dream is Possible’, and that has put them on a panic mode because they know this is exactly what the good people of Edo State are yearning for.
Mr. Yakubu said he cannot be cowed or stopped by the antics of persons with temporary possession of power who only recently got political life and adviced them to rather come out from their closets and place their own record of achievements and display their roadmap on how they intend to change the fortunes of Edo State citizens and allow the people decide who they will find suitable to govern them going forward.
The former Edo State PDP Deputy Governorship says interest in Edo 2024 can’t be truncated by persons who’s past and even the present are dotted by dishonesty, disloyalty, self- centredness and premitive acquisitions of wealth which is well known to Edo People.
Hon John Yakubu further reiterated that if the billboards which were duly paid for are not restored soonest he will be left with no other option but to take necessary legal action to seek redress
