The Police have warned Nigerians, particularly politicians to desist from any act that can threaten the 2023 general elections.

The Force said elections should be process to give Nigerians good governance, urging political parties to campaign peacefully, avoid hooliganism, vandalism and any act that can affect the electoral process.

Speaking in Ibadan at the closing of 2022 annual conference of NPF Public Relations Officers and Strategic Communication Experts with the theme “Strengthening strategic communication towards police reforms, security and integrity of 2023 elections” the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi maintained that 2023 poll must be free, fair, and credible.

He said parties should always involve the Police and other security agencies in their campaigns and rallies to assist them in managing their timetables and avoid clashes

“Nigeria have not ripe to a stage where two political parties will be having their rallies at same venue without clash, so we need to guide them so as to have seamless electoral process,” he said.
