IPOB declares May 30 as sit-at-home in Southeast
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared May 30 as sit-at-home in the Southeast, “to commemorate the anniversary of those who lost their lives for Biafra’s independence and freedom.”
The group, in a statement yesterday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said the day “is a special day set aside to remember fallen heroes and those who paid the ultimate price for the liberation of Biafra from 1967 to 1970 and beyond.
”The statement said: “We the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the command and leadership of our great prophet and indefatigable liberator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, wish to announce to all Biafrans, friends of Biafra and lovers of Biafra freedom across the world that May 30, 2023, is Biafra Heroes Day.
It is a special day set aside to remember our fallen comrades and those who paid the ultimate price for the liberation of Biafra from 1967 to 1970 and beyond.”
