Edo INEC recives over 30,000 PVCs of registered voters, Urges electorates to come for collection.
Edo State Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission says it has taken delivery of over thirty thousand permanent voter’s cards who successfully completed their registration.
Our correspondent reports that the commission also clarified that less than one percent of the registrants are yet to collect their PVC.
Commenting on strategies put in place by INEC to ensure a hitch free 2023 general election particularly in Edo State, the Head of Department, Voter Education, Mr Timidi Wariowie said the commission is almost concluding the phase of the continuous voter education.
He said over fifty two thousand persons registered in the first and second phases, Nineteen Thousand were invalid while over thirty thousand were successful.
He said the commission is concerned over the low pace of the collection of the PVC, pointing out that seven hundred persons have collected their permanent voter`s card as against 30,979 received from the National headquarters.
He also stated that the registration is ongoing at the ward and Local Government levels, including the state INEC headquarters in Benin City.
